About Us

    Gary, Bill and Shai

    Regal is an independent, fee-only, Registered Investment Advisor specializing in retirement planning and IRA distribution strategies. For more than two decades, our principals have been helping professionals and successful business owners create integrated wealth strategies that encompass customized investment portfolios, retirement income planning, tax planning and estate planning. Retirement may not mean stopping work or ending your career. We see retirement where something other than work is your highest priority. Retirement often means your income is more dependent on your savings rather than income from your occupation.


    We accept the role of a fiduciary. Our investment advisors work on a fee-only basis and are required to act in your best interest at all times. We collect NO commissions or remunerations from any of our custodial partners. Unlike firms that have a commission element to their offering, we have no incentive to pick one investment over another. We customize an investment solution that is in your best interest and we provide continuous management of your investment accounts. We work solely on your behalf, positioning your assets to realize your personal goals and to create an appropriate legacy for your heirs.


    Our advisors work with clients and their heirs residing throughout the United States and are very proud of our long-term, multi-generational client relationships. As an SEC Registered Investment Advisor we can access the best and brightest resources in the financial industry, yet as an independent, privately held company, we are dedicated to individually serving each client. Customized Strategies

  • You want quality, object advice delivered in a competent, accountable manner. Our goal is to empower you to make informed choices that are right for you and your family. We do this by investing the time to identify and prioritize your life goals, evaluate your financial resources, and then analyze how to best position your assets to reach each goal.


    We clearly explain our recommendations and encourage your questions; we want you to always understand what we are advising and why. Your investment strategy is built based on realistic expectations for attaining your goals with constant evaluation of your personal tolerance for risk. We can also work closely with your tax advisor and estate planning attorney. We can help coordinate with your team of outside advisors – including tax and estate planning professionals – to see that your strategy is fully implemented and monitored. If you do not have a relationship with these professionals, we can provide a referral.


    Advising

    Our clients are comfortable referring friends and colleagues to us. They understand that the less time we must spend sustaining our practice, the more we are able to concentrate on anticipating and meeting their needs. They know that we do not advertise to the general public and only wish to grow by adding a select number of clients each year.


    Our Clients

    • Due to the nature of our specialty (retirement income) we work best with individuals who are committed to saving for retirement or have retired with wealth accumulated in employer 401k savings plans, IRAs and non-IRA savings and investment accounts. Most of our clients are corporate professionals or successful business owners looking for advice on all financial aspects of retirement including investments, insurance and estate planning.


      A large number of our clients are engineers and scientists who want us to manage their income and wealth needs. Most clients wish to pursue fairly conservative investment models with capital preservation as the primary goal, tax avoidance as the second and modest capital appreciation as the third. Most have children, grandchildren, and charities for which proper estate planning is needed. They value the assistance of trusted advisors they can call for objective advice about any financial issue that may arise. They want to feel confident about decisions concerning their money and value the education and guidance we provide.


      Our clients have been comfortable introducing family, friends and colleagues to us. They understand that the less time we must spend sustaining our practice, the more we are able to concentrate on anticipating and meeting their needs.

Our Advising Team

    Gary Klein
    President

    First securities licensed in 1981, Gary is co-founder and president of Regal Wealth Group. Gary was born and raised in Southern California. He earned his B.A. in Philosophy at California State University, Fullerton and completed three years of graduate study at Fuller Theological Seminary. He also earned the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation from American College in Pennsylvania. He is married to Melinda Davidson and has three children.

    Bill Beeler
    Principal

    First securities licensed in 1991, Bill is co-founder and chief compliance officer of Regal Wealth Group. Bill was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. He received his bachelor's degree in engineering from Idaho State University and then his master's degree in systems management from USC. He served for eight years as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force and then flew as an airline pilot for several years. He and his wife, Jacqueline live in Redlands, have two children in college.

    Akshai (Shai) Maxwell
    Chief Investment Strategist

    Shai started in the financial services industry in 2005. He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1980 and raised in Southern California. He received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Finance and Law from California State University of Los Angeles. Before joining Regal, Shai worked at US Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management. He enjoys spending time with his family, pursuing hobbies and interests in astronomy, CrossFit, cars and reading. He and his wife Monica live in San Diego and have two young daughters.

    At US Trust Shai served as Vice President, Portfolio Manager. He managed $450 million in client and trust assets. All client portfolios were customized based on the ongoing needs of the client with an average relationship size of $6 million. Shai is most proud of the award he received for the highest client retention rate through the 2008 financial crisis.

    Christine Klein
    Financial Advisor

    Christine joined Regal Wealth Group in 2005 as a client relations specialist before becoming a licensed investment advisor. Before joining Regal, Christine obtained her bachelor's degree in Psychology from UCI and worked as an applied behavioral therapist at the UCI Child Development Center for children with ADHD and other learning disorders.

    Jodi Edwards
    Cilent Relations Manager

    Jodi Edwards joined Regal Wealth Group as client relations manager in December 2007. Before joining Regal, Jodi worked as administrative supervisor for a healthcare computer software company. Jodi is also a member of the Long Beach Emblem Club, a charitable organization that dedicates time and money to worthwhile projects, schools, and organizations within the community.
